Harold Mabern - He was a jazz pianist from Memphis and performed mostly in New York and Japan, and taught music at William Paterson for years and years. He started out in the 50s and played with Miles Davis, Lee Morgan, Wes Montgomery, to name a few. Greatest flex though is that he named an album after me (no, no royalties) and that he was an extremely loud loving kind guy.

My great grandfather (the father of my mom's late stepfather) is Clancy Hayes. He was a relatively famous banjo player and jazz musician in the mid 90s; idk if anyone's heard of him here though! His music even was broadcasted on the radio and you can find some videos of him on YouTube. ... Also, my great great grandfather on my mom's side I think supposedly invented the machine that made Corn Flakes, (but sold the invention as well as rights to invention to make money for his family; I don't think he has any interest in the rights or being famous, which is fair --I mean it's a corn flake machine for gods sake, also in this world money can feed you far better than fame can!!!!) Unfortunately no one other than my family will know the person who invented the corn flakes machine was my great great grandfather šŸ¤£

1) my high school is the center of a Netflix documentary. Itā€™s not good. 2) my mom was in the army and in Germany the same exact time Jeffrey Dahmer was. She was taken in and assessed where he was stationed, but she was not in his regime. my brother and i only found this out a few months ago and we told her about it. she was very distraught 3) my great uncle was in an acapella group that was sampled in Young Thugā€™s ā€œI Know Thereā€™s Gonna Beā€. Never met him before he passed though. 4) there is a house music singer named Barbara Tucker who i listened to as a kid. Her song ā€œBeautiful Peopleā€ got me through some times in high school. Turns out her father was in the same group as my great uncle. I contacted her last summer to ask about him and she even gave me her number (but Iā€™m just gonna respect her privacy). Sheā€™s a lovely woman šŸ˜‚

Itā€™s Friday night and Iā€™m off work late with no plans but I felt like being out in the world, even if for a moment. Turns out, a low stakes glass of orange wine tastes great when youā€™re waiting for a $10 burrito platter from down the street.

Iā€™ve spent so much time scrolling on this app that Iā€™m able to discern some of your writing voices. There are a couple of you who have such a developed voice that I can guess you wrote a post before seeing the attached username. Youā€™re all so observant, introspective, delusional, earnest, anxious, well-rounded, hilarious and loving. Kind of breaks my heart that Iā€™ll likely never meet some of my favorites because we all live everywhere, but I guess thatā€™s why we thank God for the Internet!
