Intramural Shop

This is my favorite Instagram ephemera shop. My man has the best eye, and his prices aren't outrageous. The selection is all over the map, from a wild group of Herman Miller branded drinking vessels, to Yashica pens, to an eight-piece set of Picasso salad plates. I know I just gave up my source, but everyone needs this in their lives. We can all bond over the fact that we missed the Adobe harmonica!

quirky Little ceramics

The clay in Iowa is very good quality, so I’ve been told. Maybe that’s why it seems like everyone I knew there–at one time or another–spent time at the wheel, and my life was filled with beautiful & useful ceramics. I have a pieces at home but I’ve moved so much that some got lost, or broke, or I left behind for safe keeping. Pictured, some cups I wanted from Akar last time I was there.

I recently happened upon this ceramics family when in one of those deep holes, looking for cool dishwear and trinkets for the home. I found myself drawn to the noticably hand painted designs, which are beautiful but simple. I personally love the green and white aptly named “Schizzato” stuff like this pitcher most, but there’s plenty of other standouts as well.

The puffin is the latest addition to more than 180 known species—many of them sharks, corals, and other marine animals—that emit a luminous glow. The fact that so many marine animals biofluoresce "tells us organisms are using light in ways we don't even see," John Sparks, curator of fishes at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.
