iconic strip club in los feliz/east hollywood (actually it's a bikini bar which means it's more burlesque and they're allowed to serve alcohol). it's small and divey and the dancers pick their own music from a jukebox. courtney love used to dance there!!!
i went with some friends a couple sundays ago and it was one of my favorite nights in la. one of the dancers was doing magic tricks and another climbed to the top of the pole and hung like a crucifix while dressed as a bunny (it was easter sunday)

I went to L.A. recently for a little bit of a break from the rat race and I went out with a friend of mine and she took me to this fake strip club bar on Hollywood Blvd called Jumbo’s Clown Room. (My friend deserves endless celebration for this. She was truly a fantastic host. She made this L.A. trip fun). None of the dancers get naked, and its the size of a dive bar, but Jumbo’s thrives off of being a fun and low stakes environment. Dancers dance on the pole to rock music — someone did “In the Cold, Cold Night” by The White Stripes — and the dancers often carry small bills for you to switch your large ones for. It’s fun. I happen to love the strip club, but for anyone who isn’t into the intensity of some strip clubs, Jumbo Clown Room is a great place to have a fun night when you are in the city of Angels.
