for those who have ever felt like theyre Too Much . fave podcast of all time actually . only the sexiest and most intellectual people i know listen to the too much pod now that i think about it . my favorite episode is all of them but right now might be ‘sex despite the city w/ matteo’ or ‘an exercise in everything wrong with you’ or ‘how to be your own muse’ . sometimes the niche 2000s toronto coming of age references are jarring but essentially if there were audio iv drips i would say this please ! girl who hasnt heard of headphones

the prompt said "favorite podcast as of late" and this is, without a doubt, my favorite podcast. my number one most listened to on spotify wrapped for the last 2-3 years. these two dudes know what's what! sometimes it gets a little too dude-y and the takes can get a little "for the plot" (hey, gotta keep listenership!) but generally chris and jason's takes on culture are incredibly based. i also discover so many new artists/authors/editors/cool people.

the Michael Hobbes podcast universe -Maintenance Phase: everything all the idiots in the world say about weight or weight loss or health, deconstructed to the realities of science #methodologyqueen -If Books Could Kill: every book the most annoying person in your life has recommended, torn apart brutally and exactly #methodologyqueen extended MH universe -5-4: the supreme court sucks, let’s talk about it and giggle -In Bed With The Right: great convos on feminism and sexuality theory and how they’re being used by the far right, as well as digging into historical philosophical context cyber true crime -Darknet Diaries: interviews about wild cyber crime stories, very deep dives -Hacked: more playful latest cyber news, easy entry point and entertaining -ReplyAll: not just cyber crime, just everything internet. a hall of famer in the world of podcasts, has since died but if you haven’t listened i‘m jealous that you still get to experience it for the first time goss -Normal Gossip: i’m obsessed with other people’s gossip esp when I don’t know a soul involved. this is the most perfectly produced way to do it, i’m gasping from shock and awe anytime this is on -Petty Crimes: because Normal Gossip is so well produced and they have gorgeous boundaries, there aren’t nearly enough episodes. this is a more coastal elite millennial take on other people’s gossip and very silly -Heavyweight: another gimlet studios creation that might be dead? it’s like Serial but for the most mundane personal stories that makes me cry nearly every episode wildcard -I Will Teach You To Be Rich: insane branding but stay with me, you get to listen to real couples talk about their actual finances. Ramit is surprisingly intersectional in how he views people’s attitudes about money, you wouldn’t get the vibe from his general demeanor but it’s frequently nuanced takes. his book that the podcast is named for is a tough read bc he has a very brash “guy with a podcast and internet course for sell” vibe to him but he is genuinely the only ‘financial advice guru’ that I trust and listening to his more recent episodes you can tell he has a firm understanding of societal factors that lead to financial hardship. whenever i’m up to date on this one I can feel myself making smarter money decisions (sorry long description I do feel like he requires a lot of prefacing lol)
