Practising creativity with a sense of giving your audience want they want. Its okay to create in such a way that fulfils your wishes and interests but at a certain point you must realise that the audience matters. We’ve all been a part of the crowd and have known what we’ve wanted to see as a member of said audience. Taste, and the creators habits can only show so much, sometimes you must also joyfully do your job. Give the people what they want in a way that leaves you fulfilled and excited to experience your own art from the perspective of the audience.

i feel like it’s this constant debate but the thing is? there’s millions of artists/musicians/etc out there, so i find when you want to hold on so tightly to someone, you’re closing yourself off from other artists that could be similar or way cooler but not a terrible person obviously there’s a distinction between a faux pas, mistakes before growth, or being deeply consistently horrible, but i absolutely think that’s a distinction worth making… we only have so much time on this earth, and our time to consume art and music and film and literature is fleeting, so i’d rather spend it on the works of people who have earnestly made the world a more beautiful place and exploring art to find those !

a wonderful documentary about a relatively untouched island strip off the coast of Canada where horses roam free and there's no one to govern or be governed. it's visually captivating - documenting the unique landscapes and characters of the island. powdery whites, blush pinks, soothing greens. it was shot on 16mm film and the director used experimental development techniques, developing the film in the island's seaweed, water, and sand to provide additional texture and biomarkers to the film. if you're in the mood for a mystical, scientific, soothing watch, i would highly recommend :) it's available on cbcgems if you're in canada!
