Dark souls meets Studio Ghibli meets Zelda. Soulslike action adventure with isometric 3D top down animation. Recing again because I just 100%ed another run through and itโ€™s still just the best game. Just one of the best games ever made. The controls are so slick and it feels so good to play. The animation is gorgeous and the story is entertaining without getting in the way of the game play. Itโ€™s challenging without being punishing and the QOL is so high and well thought out that itโ€™s never overly frustrating even when repeating hard bits over and over. Clearly made my people who play games and understand what is needed to make them feel good.

just finished this beautiful and pleasant game! its bread and butter is its movement system in which you get speed boosts by shooting floating talismans with your bow and arrow (it's quite satisfying). this movement system does such a great job marrying gameplay with storytelling, messaging, and themes. this was clearly intentional and i appreciate/respect that a lot. you explore this pretty open world and solve simple puzzles, with a few boss fights. this is not a challenging game in the slightest once you get the hang of the movement system, and i finished the story and unlocked 40/43 achievements in 12 hours.

Cute, souls-like, 3D, isometric, action adventure game. One of my all time favourite games, and I can't believe that it was developed by just two guys in Manchester. They were inspired by dark souls and top-down Zelda games, combined with Studio Ghibli animation. I've attached a game play trailer. I don't really hear people talk about it much and I really think more people should play it! Its game-play feels really slick and satisfying and not clumky like some isometric sword combat games can be. It's challenging, but not sadistic (I tried to play Tunic which is similar and just gave up cause it was so punishing). I have already played it twice and I'm itching for another run through.

or junk journaling, if you'd like to not perpetuate myths about crows liking to collect trinkets. i just think it sounds cuter weirdly, as someone who's a writer, i've never really been good at or liked journaling. every planner i've ever owned has remained empty. if i try to write something any time other than when the fancy strikes me, it just feels inauthentic, like i'm trying too hard. this has been the first time journaling actually felt like it had a purpose for me, and actually felt weirdly therapeutic basically, it's just anything i can recycle, i make into a page. i like a common theme, so places i've visited, media i like, similar aesthetics, emotions i'm feeling. and then we get the qr code page & i'm reminded that this is probably the quintessential depiction of what scoring 121 on the RAADS-R looks like eh, i'm having fun๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

in agreement with mouse nitw soup rema see also agree with them that definitely limbo or inside will scratch the little nightmares itch, arguably playdead's games are a big inspiration for little nightmares. depending on what you're into (more story or more gameplay heavy) for story. i cannot recommend "what remains of edith finch" enough. just a true gem and some of the best of interactive storytelling for gameplay i love the witness, hi fi rush, and neon white. all very different, but maybe you'll find something you'll like for a mix if both, disco elysium. dialogue HEAVY, but based in like ttrpg systems, it's really fun. REALLY long though, like maybe put aside some time to crack that one open lol
