no literally, just talking. i spent hours catching up with a friend, just talking and not even once glancing at my phone or the time or where we were. i know the trend is ~yapping~ but truly i think we all need to start showing up more for our friends and just talking until it’s late and you’ve spiraled from “have you seen that tik tok?” to “yeah, well, its interesting because my mom and i used to have a strained relationship and now…”

soo… cooking and reading is what i wanted to say originally but people already answered. but catching up with friends or meeting them is such a good way to just lay your phone down and be in the moment. i specifically always ask my friends to turn off their phones when we‘re somewhere. its also such a respect thing: imagine you meet with your friends and theyre on their phone like ALL the time. its not fun to be with them.

maybe it’s a quick coffee chat or a 2hr dinner or just an arts and crafts sesh but i want to know about my friends lives! even with the busyness of life i want to make sure i set time aside to make sure my friends know i appreciate them. i’ve had way too many friendships just slowly fizzle out because we text every few weeks saying we should catch up and never do.

a little chilly, moisture in the air, sun peeking out. always reminds me of going to swim practice or my summer babysitting job or being on vacation with my family and going to see some old historic site.
