Rec | GROWING UP -- FINISHING HIGH SCHOOL

"It's bittersweet" seems to be the only phrase I find myself saying lately... any of you guys have any recommendations for making the most of my final months of high school?? I really want to spend time and make memories together, but currently, school's very cliquey and I'm having trouble bringing the whole class together. Feeling very "Vienna" by Billy Joel and "Ribs" by Lorde, as well as "Boys don't cry" by the Cure

Hey girlie try to live in the moment and not overthink things too much or feel pressure to have the Best most optimal experience or compare it to other people’s experiences… you’re going to look back and treasure these moments no matter what happens!! And I think another important thing is don’t feel too eager to grow up and enjoy just being a girl!! 🐣 that’s something I really regret looking back is feeling like I had to become a Woman because it led to me getting into some dangerous situations

Missing high school

I don't think it is sad or embarrassing to miss the most carefree time of your life.. I worked a concert for the jazz band I used to be a member of and watching them just be kids in between/after playing stirred something within me. It's a precious, unique time that nobody ever seems to appreciate until it's long gone. I have very fond memories of those years and haven't been able to hang out with friends as often and consistently as I did then. I didn't have the freedom of being an adult yet but the world wasn't nearly as big either, so it didn't feel limiting. Sometimes people put this down as "peaking in high school".. I think peaking is nonlinear and different aspects of your life can be at their best at different times.. There's another thought to be had here but I don't have the words to finish it right now lol.. maybe at a later time

enjoying the summer

Tomorrow I’m taking my last exam, and then at noon I’ll be officially free from school. This is my last summer before graduation, and I’m just planning on making the best of it. I feel so sad whenever I remember school is about to end, when I realize that I blinked and suddenly I’m 18. So if you’re in the same place as me? Let’s just try to enjoy it as much as we can Don’t overwork yourself studying every second of it, the time will eventually pass, and you’ll never be this young again.

how to not let this month pass me by

I’m graduating from college soon! But I’ve mostly been stressed and busy yet simultaneously tired and unproductive. Yknow, routine. But this is my last month, and I’ve barely seen people and don’t want it to pass me by. Any ideas?
