I've gone to a few shows solo and find dancing to be the best way to shake out the nerves. Tune into the music and enjoy it. That's what you're there for. In yoga they say to stay with the breath through challenging poses and moves. Same goes here. Stay with the breath and the music. It's your experience.
-- Engage. Complimenting people is a good way to start a conversation. Where did you get those incredible boots, love your shirt it reminds me of ___, etc. If you have a question, any question, ask the people around you. Don't look it up on your phone or ask an employee. Have you tried this drink/snack on the menu? Do you know what time this DJ goes on? Have you seen this DJ before?
-- Comfort and confidence attracts. I have the tendency to overthink how I'm being percieved and the answer to that is just to do your damn thing and realize everyone else is in their own head with their own thoughts. You can't control what they think and *no one is thinking about you the way you are thinking about you.* You ever see somebody just doing their own thing and not worrying about anyone else? It's the hottest shit ever. People are going to gravitate toward you.
-- Hit da bricks! You have the freedom to leave if you're not having a good time. You can skedaddle whenever you want to. But I would say challenge yourself to push past the uncomfortable part at least once during the night, because that's where you learn the most about yourself.
Also second having a sparkling water or other NA beverage in hand. Something to do with your hands helps.
Your party sounds so fun, have a good time!
