Dreams has stunning visuals! Besides the visuals I also really loved this part from ’The Watermill Village’ “People today forgotten they are really just a part of nature. Yet, they destroy the nature on which our lives depend. They always think they can make something better. Especially scientists. They may be smart, but most do not understand the heart of nature. They only invent things that in the end make people unhappy. Yet, they are so proud of their inventions. What is worse, most people are, too. They view them as if they were miracles. They worship them. They do not know it, but they are losing nature. They do not see that they are going to perish. The most important things for human beings are clean air and clean water and trees and gras that prodice them. Everything is being dirtied. Polluted forever. Dirty air, dirty water, dirtying the heart of men.”

Ok, it’s about a Tokyo toilet cleaner. And he barely speaks. But bear with me. It’s a film that is luminous with beauty from a director nearing the end of his life (Wim Wenders is in his eighties.) And it says so much about what is important in life, and what isn’t … Relinquishing complication, I think, is the key. Plus the quietness of simplicity. And the ability to cleave to a simple life - if you possibly can. And having the courage to be singular; to not care what others think of you (the ultimate freedom.) Lessons, lessons, all the life lessons. I still think about the gift of this film, months after I was immersed in it. I left the cinema … cleansed.

What ever happened to making mixtapes for friends. Putting your friends on songs. I think this is a great way to show your love to friends. Handpicking songs fitting their vibe or putting songs in there you truly love To me a mixtape goes a long way in comparison to just sending them a song
