I love this song sm. Rock n roll love confession. A classic for me. There’s never a lull, with the timing of the back up vocals and guitar licks and the lyrics feel so pronounced they’re unavoidable. No wonder he inspired Elliot Smith. Feels like a 70‘s summer.

Inspired by 80‘s production, this song feels bigger than itself. End credits of a movie vibe. Reflective of passing youth. In layered, reverb laden vocals he sings “Growing up is never easy…Wrong enough to say I’m sorry. Owning up to things I can’t undo.” It’s great for a drive alone thinking on all the things that’ve passed you by and all that has yet to arrive :)

I’m not sure I’d say this is my favorite album ever but it is one I will never get tired of and frequently come back to. It’s just such brash, shot in the arm, pure rockstar music. Unmatched, soaring, it’s great to be alive energy all throughout. How fitting the first song is titled “Rock n Roll Star”. Bring It On Down will always make me feel like I can run through a brick wall. If I was a baseball player that would probably be my walk up song.
