im not saying watching tv, or scrolling your phone, or listening To music. I mean being present and noticing with all your senses Just what kind of environment you exist in and how you engage with it. let your mind wander and do a little daydreaming - I promise, it’s good for you

it’s healing. no screen, no headphones, no book, no nothing. just you sitting doing nothing and being. maybe inside or maybe (ideally) outside. maybe in a chair. maybe lying down. looking around and observing. maybe 5 minutes or maybe an hour.

sit down. eat the meal. think about the meal. no youtube. no television. not even any music. look forward. look around the room. pay attention to your posture. slow down a little. mealtime is a good time to be present :)

This takes less than a minute. I do this mostly when I’m in nature or other beautiful surroundings. I say one thing I observe in the environment for each of the five senses. For example, I smell the salty ocean air, I feel the breeze on my face, I hear the birds singing, etc. Doing this causes me to slow down and really take in the present moment.
