hiking boots are #cancelled, what you want for hiking is a lightweight pair of trail runners that are comfortable and let your feet breathe, i used to get lots of blisters from hiking boots and since switching to trail runners i have never looked back
my faves are the altra lone peaks because they have a wide toe box and are zero drop, but there are lots of other solid options :)
for other clothing, big fan of sun hoodies, running shorts, and merino wool socks!
also it’s a good idea to hike with a first aid kit (can literally just be a zip lock with some bandages, triple antibiotic, and ibuprofen) and a headlamp in case it gets dark (phone flashlight works too in a pinch), and obvi don‘t forget plenty of water and snacks! i like to keep easy access things in a fanny pack :D
but most importantly you don’t need fancy gear or clothing to go hiking, just use what you have and get outside, it’s a beautiful world out there! <3
