This movie is so much tender than its marketing lends you to believe! The queer undertones are so unintentionally beautiful and the scenes with the creature and the blind hermit make me cry!
I went in to this expecting a creature feature but came out appreciating it so much more than I expected. Directed by a queer director and filled with so much legitimate queer coding, Night Tide is about the nonrepressable nature of the body and I adore it so so much.
In the time we waste scoffing and rolling our eyes, we could be enjoying this absolute banger of a track off the deluxe edition of Believe. It’s “Billie Jean“ for teeny boppers with a killer bass line. Undeniably a BOP.
