I have a whole blog and ig explaining what and why... but to break this recent outfit down: a navy blazer, an ecru broadcloth button down, a silk knit tie, a pair of wide fatigues, and some suede loafers. Oh, and a chambray hat. I went to an event for Buck Mason (a pretty rugged brand) held in conjunction with J. Mueser (a bespoke tailoring brand based in NYC), and I was already planning to blend most of these pieces as an earth tones / casual tailoring type of outfit, so it felt like the perfect moment to bust out this exact outfit.

Really been messing with big, unstructured, easy breezy suiting as of late. Been scouring eBay with 2 scores so far - I’m talking 80s/90s big I-talian shit, Pierre Balmain, Giorgio Armani, Gianni Versace etc. If you really think about it, it’s like wearing a big tracksuit except you look a lil more fly. Styling wise - you can really do what you want. Wife respecter, button up (french tuck👀), maybe a cotton knit sweater. Just a really sick, comfy, genderless uniform. Wore this one to NYC for the weekend, its all I packed, worked like a charm and I felt smarter.

The prep dads are thriving in the light blue top / khakis / dress shoes fits right around now. I don’t really love any of those pieces by themselves, and I generally don’t love how the prep-centric people will put them together, but I love the idea of it as an outfit. So here’s my take on it: a sashimi mended & patched chambray shirt, CAT workwear pants, and brown paraboots. From a distance I fit right in, but when you get closer there’s some distinctive features. I think if you don’t know what to wear, find a stereotypical outfit that you’ve seen on the street and replicate it your own way. You might end up loving it.

I feel like this place isn't about people but about recommendations, right? forget the influencer, forget the individual, just browse and talk about cool shit and whoever says something good, that's good. that's what I liked about reddit, back when I actually liked reddit. I haven't found many people I want to follow, and I'm not really looking.

I've been enjoying new clothes, and experimenting them with fun ways, so much lately that I need to keep reminding myself of this. Not every excursion outside needs to be fresh and new and experimental. If I am going out and I need a warm sweater and I need my sneakers and I already have a fit in mind with those pieces, I can just wear it, I don't need to reinvent the wheel every time.
