Basic answer, but both have always been a comfort to me since childhood. And the communities surrounding these games are so interesting.

I recently tapped in when a therapist asked me "what is something you do to relax" and I quite literally had no answer. Enter Sims 4...the base game is free and I have probably logged an ungodly amount of hours. I build houses, I download mods of midcentury furniture, I make replicas of my cat in CAS. I have also tuned into the youtube-sphere of Sims content. Lil Simsie is my queen...but that's a rec for another time.

i have a couple to suggest: dinkum - think stardew valley + animal crossing + elements of minecraft based in australia; it's literally my favourite game of all time and can spend HOURS on it making my little town it's so fun. and it can be multiplayer!! unpacking - okay this one is a shorter game but you basically unpack items from boxes into a home. kinda like a puzzle and organizing game, but it's super relaxing. you also get clues about whose life you're unpacking. mini metro - if you like train lines/subways in cities, then this is a nice puzzle game. you basically design a subway system by drawing lines between stations to keep your trains running. there are new stations that open and you must include them into your subway system haha to the moon - story driven game but, could make you extremely emotional rocket league - soccer with cars, i have sunk many hours in this, but i like playing this game with friends!! just gonna put stardew valley in here too because it is also one of my fave games, but i reckon you've heard of it already!
