Here's a long form, nerdy post on pants for the upcoming fall/winter that are still good for the summer too. (The Bronson pants mentioned below are incredible too, great rec lucius 10/10)

I'll confirm the Bronson (for milsurp styles) and J. Crew Giant Fit chinos/cords (more generic casual) recommendations are both good. Uniqlo, Buck Mason, and Gramici (hiking vibes) should also have good options. If you're going vintage, PRL Andrew or Hammond pants are great in linen or cord or chino. Both straight leg, Andrew is a double forward pleat, Hammond is a double reverse. My linen Andrews bounce and flow in ways that make me happy. Dickie's makes some good pants for cheap, the main downside being the polyester in their blends. But they look cool. Workwear-styled. (For the confused, workwear doesn't mean "clothes you wear to work," it means "clothes construction workers might wear to work.") Evan Kinori, Studio Nicholson, and Scott Fraser Collection are doing cool things if you wanna spend money. Or you could always go bespoke with a brand like Rota. Aaaannd as one more twist... I've gotten good Gucci pants for a very good price on eBay, there's more out there if you want to look into that. Especially worthwhile if you want to find a flared leg.

I love pants and I love what everyone has to say about them

Sweatpants are tough for me. I don't love the elastic cuff they often come with and prefer a pair that fits like normal straight fit pants. So naturally I was psyched when I found these ones from Everybody.World. Everything they make is pretty great tbh, I especially love the quarter-zip I bought from them 3 years ago. You can wear these pants to run an errand or two, or keep them reserved for when you're hunched over a keyboard at home writing recommendations, you do you! But these are the best of the best.

florinegrassenhopper riotgrrrl brendanooooo slowdazzle buck_mcgraw and indianjones — we did it. Not only did we successfully meet for drinks, but we also schemed the hostile takeover of this app from tyler tonight. In all seriousness — weird that an app I downloaded in April would make genuinely want to drive back into Brooklyn during end of day traffic for a happy hour. Great app filled with great people.

I feel like there’s a special connectivity on this app that I haven’t felt in a long time, maybe since early 2010’s tumblr. The fact that you can’t promote yourself like IG is wonderful. The fact that there isn’t mass video content like Tik Tok is great. It’s not this monetized / paid sponsorship app. People are here because they want to be a part of something with nothing to gain besides friendship. Seeing the URL -> IRL meetups warms my heart so much (waiting for an NYC or Brooklyn meetup). Thanks for your participation on this niche little app. I smile reading all the recs and all the comments and all the asks. Hope we’ll all be here for a long time.

I think a life rule for me is to surround myself with people who know more / are smarter / are cooler than me and just absorb their aura by listening / observing them. It’s made me the incredibly smart / cool person you all know and love. I just never thought I’d feel the same way about URL friends. I’m constantly listening to the songs I see posted here, reading the articles, subbing to newsletters, and googling topics that get tossed onto the feed. It’s nice to know you can become a more rounded person by just absorbing what your mutuals post on here. I’m going to sit on my couch, have a cocktail and digest my lovely feed. Happy Sunday!
