Honestly if there's one topic you can trust these language models to be relatively expert in — just based on the amount of internal testing they have undergone at the hands of myopic autodidact techies — it's basic coding / stats / data science stuff. (Obviously caveat emptor, all LLMs will fabulate when pushed hard enough in a so-called "out-of-distribution" direction... but IMO it will take you a while to get there.) While it may make sense to supplement with some kind of structured training/course — especially if you want to eventually make larger-scale sites/software — I wouldn't immediately spend $1000s on it like one might have a couple years ago simply because you can ask soooo many basic and goofy technical questions to a $20/month (and/or free!) model (available 24/7) that you'd be embarrassed to ask a human, even if you were paying them.

python and coding in general can be frustrating and time consuming but imo, it is so much more fulfilling and worthwhile to put in the work and do something yourself so that you can understand how it works and eventually learn to go even further with the ideas you have! developing the skills to do what you want and more is an invaluable tool that you should never let AI take from you. sure it may give you an output close enough to what you want, but knowing how to code could help you improve it at the very least. not to mention credibility issues with AI

i haven’t PERSONALLY taken this course, but my brother recommends and suggests it is worth the cost! i used to recommend codeacademy.com to people who wanted to learn programming, but my understanding is they have shifted away from a totally free model to having more content locked behind either a paywall or subscription, and i’m not sure i can actually rec paying for that content… but possibly worth checking out what is available for free! i linked their python course, but they also have some other introductory courses that walk you through different programming languages at a higher level.

Finally saw this for the first time (on 35mm thxx Prince Charles Cinema) and wow. Jonathan Glazer and co-writer Jean-Claude Carrière spending all of pre-production re-writing the script without informing the studio… DP Harris Savides pushing the boundaries of underexposed film and getting the craziest deepest browns and purples out of Kodak stock… Alexandre Desplat starting with what seems like a very polite classical score and then gradually bringing in heavy synth bass… and of course Nicole Kidman throwing herself headlong into an insane role (and apparently bullying the producers for more $$$ when they finished under budget)

Because of the extensive tradition of pirate radio in the UK (from Radio Caroline on down), London probably has the most insane landscape of 24/7 internet radio in the world. I've tried to rank these in terms of approximate popularity ranging from NTS (as mentioned) on down to purely DIY weekend-only amateur collectives like LWSTD. If you don't know the stations in your city, just have a quick google and do some Instagram "Following" list exploration and it should be pretty easy to find more (e.g. in Amsterdam check out Echobox, Radio Tempo Não Pára, RRFM, etc...) - NTS (Dalston) https://www.nts.live/ - Rinse FM (Hoxton) https://rinse.fm/ - Worldwide FM (Islington) https://worldwidefm.net/ (currently mostly on ice but great archive) - Balaami (Peckham) https://www.balamii.com/ - Soho Radio https://sohoradiolondon.com/ - Reprezent Radio (Brixton) https://www.reprezentradio.org.uk/ - Netil Radio (Hackney) https://www.netilradio.com/ - Subtle Radio (Hackney) https://www.subtleradio.com/ - Voices Radio (Kings Cross) https://www.voicesradio.co.uk/ - Aaja (Deptford) https://aajamusic.com/radio/ - Do You!! Radio (Hackney) https://doyou.world/ - LWSTD https://www.lovewillsavetheday.fm/

The less you read about it (or look at maps) the better. Just enter via Haight Street, turn your phone off and wander 'til you reach the ocean. If you go on a Sunday afternoon and you didn't already come across it, proceed to turn your phone back on and track back to the 6th Avenue Skate Park to check out the roller disco party 🛼🔊😎
