This story about a French man walking on a wire across the twin towers was made into a not-great feature film but I really love the doc. It sort of changed my life in that it put into focus that we all have a purpose in life and dreams that we can achieve. In his case, it’s something as silly as walking across tall buildings on a wire, but he commits with such passion, drive and unchanging belief that he WILL defy odds and achieve the impossible that it inspired me to try to chase my silly little dreams, too.

brilliant. beautiful and funny and heartwrenching and silly and all around fantastic. the more i think about this movie the more i love it. tells an unconventional tale of self-confidence, self-sabotage, regret and jealousy, etc etc the ending was a bit silly but i can look past it lol. what a fantastic cast and fantastic production. they frame things throughout as if it were to look like a stage production only for that to be the eventual main plot point. one of my favorite scenes (if not films) of the year
