Someone on Reddit recommended this one to me. The premise is two practicing lawyers talk about lawsuits in the reality TV world (there are a lot of them right now). They have some really interesting insights into these cases and it makes for a really enjoyable listen while just working on stuff.

the Michael Hobbes podcast universe -Maintenance Phase: everything all the idiots in the world say about weight or weight loss or health, deconstructed to the realities of science #methodologyqueen -If Books Could Kill: every book the most annoying person in your life has recommended, torn apart brutally and exactly #methodologyqueen extended MH universe -5-4: the supreme court sucks, letā€™s talk about it and giggle -In Bed With The Right: great convos on feminism and sexuality theory and how theyā€™re being used by the far right, as well as digging into historical philosophical context cyber true crime -Darknet Diaries: interviews about wild cyber crime stories, very deep dives -Hacked: more playful latest cyber news, easy entry point and entertaining -ReplyAll: not just cyber crime, just everything internet. a hall of famer in the world of podcasts, has since died but if you havenā€™t listened iā€˜m jealous that you still get to experience it for the first time goss -Normal Gossip: iā€™m obsessed with other peopleā€™s gossip esp when I donā€™t know a soul involved. this is the most perfectly produced way to do it, iā€™m gasping from shock and awe anytime this is on -Petty Crimes: because Normal Gossip is so well produced and they have gorgeous boundaries, there arenā€™t nearly enough episodes. this is a more coastal elite millennial take on other peopleā€™s gossip and very silly -Heavyweight: another gimlet studios creation that might be dead? itā€™s like Serial but for the most mundane personal stories that makes me cry nearly every episode wildcard -I Will Teach You To Be Rich: insane branding but stay with me, you get to listen to real couples talk about their actual finances. Ramit is surprisingly intersectional in how he views peopleā€™s attitudes about money, you wouldnā€™t get the vibe from his general demeanor but itā€™s frequently nuanced takes. his book that the podcast is named for is a tough read bc he has a very brash ā€œguy with a podcast and internet course for sellā€ vibe to him but he is genuinely the only ā€˜financial advice guruā€™ that I trust and listening to his more recent episodes you can tell he has a firm understanding of societal factors that lead to financial hardship. whenever iā€™m up to date on this one I can feel myself making smarter money decisions (sorry long description I do feel like he requires a lot of prefacing lol)
