the platonic ideal of an ice cream sandwich: perfectly soft ice cream, chewy cookie, crunchy chocolate chips. I can find these easily at many locations around me in the PNW and there are many different flavors, though I tend to go for the classic chocolate chip. the instructions say to let them sit at room temp for 3 minutes and 47 seconds before eating and I really appreciate that level of specificity.

The kind wrapped in paper you buy from a truck or cart. A true masterclass of frozen treats and an exercise in simplicity, this is all you need. They go absolutely silly hard on a hot day and/or by a body of water or pool. Plus when you’re done you get to scrape off all the chocolate on your fingers with your teeth. Round 2 baby!

Sometimes I really just want an indulgent little treat for myself and my go-to is a couple of warm cookies and some ice cream. I like the Whole Foods frozen sea salt chocolate chip cookie dough because you can just make 1-2 at a time in a toaster oven and the rest keeps in the freezer forever. Get a pint of ice cream, make a couple fresh cookies in your toaster oven, then just alternate spoonfuls between the cold ice cream and bites of warm cookie. It can’t be beat, I’m tellin ya.

I went to the Korean spa for the first time with my bestie last night and it was a profoundly nourishing experience on every level. we were having deep heart to hearts while schvitzing it out in the sauna and it felt like my soul was being cleansed. there are these tubs of different temperatures and this basin full of mugwort water with empty bowls so you can pour it over yourself, and all these magical heated rooms with different scents and properties. I also saw people carrying giant bottles of spa water with chopped mango and mint and they were like $20 each but they looked sooo good. next time I also want to go to the Korean restaurant inside and the tea room.

this movie really defined an entire formative era of my life. I was an awkward frizzy-haired tween with glasses when this came out and I saw so much of myself in Mia. my best friend and I had the soundtrack basically memorized (Aaron Carter’s cover of Itty Bitty Little Pretty One lives rent free in my head, as does Miracles Happen by Myra). the love interest Michael (aka Robert Schartzman of Rooney fame) imprinted on my eros and continues to influence my type in masc women to this day. the movie also led me to the (superior if I’m being honest) book series, which played a HUGE role in shaping my taste and sense of humor and interest in pop culture references

just binged it in two days and loved it. i’ve never actually seen the original with Brangelina so i can’t say how this compares, but this was smart, fun, sexy, and surreal. i need more! my only criticism is they kept making dumb mistakes that made me yell at the tv…for spies they should have known better!!
