It's a cover from Bob Marley's Waiting in Vain , but it holds a special place in my heart because my brother would always play reggae songs on his acoustic guitar and as a lil kid that loved and adored music it was so fun to have jam sessions with him, he would often jam out and then let me express whatever song lyrics come to mind hehe, it was definitely a core moment for me. :)

Like lovers rock and rocksteady is the greatest music to me. I don’t know if it’s because I grew up hearing it a lot? (grew up in a predominantly Jamaican church and my dads most played cd was this old gospel reggae compilation) so maybe it gives me this nostalgia. But the bass lines and the melodies and songwriting is such an inspiration to me and I genuienly enjoy the music with all my heart. This song is tied to so many memories of my dad; I think it may only have been playing so much because it was one of the only songs he had saved on his iTunes, lol. I remember dancing with him, standing on his feet, to this song in the evenings when he got home from work before he could even change out of his suit. I still love it.

one of my all-time favourite lyrics are from this song. he writes so eloquently <3 "I'm sure we're taller in another dimension You say we're small and not worth the mention You're tired of movin', your body's achin' We could vacay, there's places to go Clearly this isn't all that there is Can't take what's been given But we're so okay here, we're doing fine Primal and naked You dream of walls that hold us imprisoned It's just a skull, least that's what they call it And we're free to roam."
