i think that it’s become more popular to distance yourself from your parents these days bc therapy speak overintellectualizes very normal human behaviors (not to sound like a boomer or wtv) but are my parents perfect, obviously not, but i love them and i want to see them happy and i know that they want to see me happy so i try yk? something about the childhood nicknames coming out as they hug you is genuinely just mwah
