I love eggs. Not only are they versatile, they are beautiful. From that perfect oval shape when whole to a puddle of whites and yolk when cracked, their appearance (and taste!) can take on many forms. My apartment in London is somewhat egg themed…I have a rug in the shape of a fried egg, a painting of an egg hung up on my kitchen wall and I keep my jewelry on a ceramic fried egg.  I love yellow and white as a colour combo - it is very chic.

At the Lincoln Center Performing Arts Library you can watch almost any theatrical production performed in New York City since 1970. Due to union laws, you can only watch a production once and must stay in the library’s viewing cubicles. Recently, I watched John C. Riley and Phillip Seymour Hoffman in Sam Shepard’s True West. If you love theater, do yourself a favor and spend an afternoon watching an old production. I love theater and want new plays. I am imagining a burgeoning playwright creeping into the library to watch Meryl Streep in “Mouther Courage and Her Children” and going on to write their own Mother Courage (and casting me).

What I love about nyc is the infinite amount of screenings there are for all types of movies — I think of it as an event more than anything! Feels way more fulfilling than just catching a film that just came out at an amc or whatever. The theaters r so much more intimate! And then you’ll watch happy together 1997 and the colors will be so beautiful n bright and you’ll cry and feel the same way someone did after seeing it 20+ years ago!

Great movie to kick off the new year, on at 9 PM on the 31st at the Studio Galande cinema in the 5th arrondissement, lots of fun and probably very nice people to meet. Come dressed up for extra fun. As a bonus, I believe it's the only theatre in the world that's been showing the movie weekly with actors since it first came out in 1975, so that's pretty cool !

I love buying flowers, they add so much life to the house (even though they are technically dying in front of your eyes) They don’t need to be fancy -  cheap ones from the local supermarket will do. I like the ceremony of arranging them in a vase and placing them on a random shelf and seeing new colours quite literally blossom. I wish people bought me flowers more, that's really the only gift I crave. If I had it my way I would live in a greenhouse.

I feel like I used to be a lot smarter than I am now, so in a desperate attempt to regain brain cells I have been paying attention to the news. Woo! For a while now, every morning I will listen to the Guardian newspaper's daily news podcast - it focuses on a topical subject within world politics - the latest failing by the Government or the fallout of a natural disaster. It's insightful, nuanced and balanced…And makes me feel like less of an idiot

Ever since I can remember I have loved pasta with tomato sauce. If someone put a curse on me which meant I could only eat pasta pomodoro for the rest of my life I would say “omg yay”. I am a pasta pomodoro connoisseur - I have eaten it all over the world, from Japan to Cuba. It is also one of the only dishes I can cook myself (apart from eggs as we know). Recipe: Slow roast cherry tomatoes in the oven with oil, salt and garlic on a low heat for 2 hours and then add in the pasta  - yum!
