Honestly I have been list mostly to ”Packapunch” with Danny Brown on that album but I’m interested in seeing what else they have in store for songs. I did listen to “Omnitrix” because of the teasers, but goddamn did the song suck because JVB had to add a fucking trap beat over the song. There is also “Bussit”, which is fine, but I wish they went forward with the jungle break section. Honestly I liked JVB last album before No Hands, even though it is a Beastie Boy clone to some degree. I just like the vibe, it gives me a sense of having a katana and just going at mach speed slicing at people, like Ultrakill but with 10 Epipens shot into you.

this album is as if the two funniest guys in your high school English class decided to get into hip hop as a joke but it actually ended up sounding really good. It’s fun, it’s cheeky, it takes nothing seriously! I love these crazy kids, they’re heavily beastie boys inspired but with a lonely island sense of chaos. Their first album is also great but I’ll be bopping my head to this one all summer

In the Depths of Solitude I exist in the depths of solitude pondering my true goal Trying 2 find peace of mind and still preserve my soul CONSTANTLY yearning to be accepted and from all receive respect Never compromising but sometimes risky and that is my only regret A young heart with an old soul how can there be peace How can I be in the depths of solitude when there R 2 inside of me This Duo within me causes the perfect opportunity 2 learn and live twice as fast as those who accept simplicity - Tupac Shakur I came across this poem and some others by Tupac in a collection of his poems and this one particularly resonated with me. There’s also a recording of Ludacris reading out this poem and talking a little about it and Tupac, I think it’s worth listing to :)

Be Blues! … is a manga about football, you might initially think. The Manga starts off lighthearted and introduces us to the main character Ichijou Ryuu who in the beginning is a ten year old boy who’s in love with football. Its quite easy to understand that Ichijou is different from the other kids on the pitch in terms of talent. He has it all, from a great first touch, incredible vision of the field to creativity in terms of strategy. These talents enable him to try things never done before and he succeeds in them all. Yet Ichijous journey in football is anything but conventional. However Be Blues wouldn’t be Be Blues if it was just a story about football. Through 49 volumes with 489 chapters we get to see Ichijou struggle with setbacks so severe they’d break any other person. Yet he manages to fight his way back again and again by finding ways to improve and fulfilling his potential. He proves his grit and ambition time and time again. However Ichijou is but a boy and we also get to see how he deals with moments of uncertainty. By far my favorite part about this manga is Ichijou Ryuu‘s Character. He always has a plan, he follows through, he’s reliable, he inspires the people around him and he’s inspired me. Be Blues is so much more than a manga about football.
