Most of my time is spent waiting for the minutes to pass, and I've grown fond of whipping out a book when it's slow at work, or when I'm waiting for a friend in the car, or in the clinic waiting room waiting for my name to be called, etc. I've finished my 2023 reading goal, and now I keep the shortest book I own in my purse wherever I go. I switch it from time to time, but it's always Annie Ernaux: The Possession or Simple Passion. :) "Since I’ve started carrying a book everywhere, even to something like the Academy Awards, I’ve had a much easier time of it, and the bitterness that shortens your life has been headed off at the pass by the wonderful Paperback. Light, fitting easily into most purses, the humble paperback has saved a lot of relationships for me that would have ended in bloodshed." - Eve Babitz, Slow Days, Fast Company: The World, The Flesh and L.A ❤️‍🩹
