over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting -
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.

Enjoy this lovely poem. to me it connected to the feeling of loneliness and belonging alongside the burden of “goodness” and “purity” in which humans feel a constant need to uphold.
It spoke to my queerness not only in regards to sexuality but who I am as a person beyond that. A poem on not just self acceptance but bringing ourselves back to our roots, too nature and love and to be free from humanity’s disconnection and dependancy for shame. That we do belong, on this earth and with this nature, with our bodies and with others.

Let the soft animal of my body loves what it loves
I have been playing these words for months now, seemingly forgetting and re remembering them often. this poem is an important reminder for me to not overthink the things I love, do not restrict or distance myself from them. but instead to let myself be comfortable with the softest and kindest part of me, love unashamed. focus on the words “let” because it is one thing to be full of love but it is another to allow yourself to feel all of that Love.
