more of a thriller but- so tense, so chilling, phenomenal acting. i watched the 1997 version but the director remade the movie in 2007 also.

so intense and every actor nails it, real life home invasion scenario horror, no violence shown on screen but clearly heard in the background so pretty watchable for those who can't do extreme gore or ghost stuff. extra creepy because it could happen at any time to anyone. it's so surreal and real. probably my favorite horror movie ever and i've seen a lot of horror movies from splatter films to paranormal to experimental to science fiction. this is the best psychological thriller EVER

is a film that really got under my skin. it is more of a thriller/mystery that makes you feel as if you are being watched. the final act is absolute insanity and had me peering through my fingers to see what would happen next. made me very paranoid the night i watched it. spooky stuff. i rented it on prime :3 love ya!

short stories by the author of The Ring, all centered around the theme of water. very creepy & the storytelling is fantastic. i also highly recommend reading The Ring if you like those movies, if i remember correctly it’s told from a slightly different perspective but goes much deeper into the story. definitely recommend if you like horror!

something about this video gets me thru the times when i don’t know what to do with myself: https://youtu.be/kXAv8RXmsrc?si=sEzFGI9QbGNpDZq_ jim carrey’s advice: 1. eat everything you see 2. if you start to spiral downward, turn the television on 3. change the pattern 4. have someone you know come up and smack you in the head 5. punch yourself in the leg 6. smoke. smoke as much as you possibly can. i interpret these as: 1. just eat. nourish your body. 2. get out of your own head (tv is great, i use video games for this) 3. change. the. pattern. 4. and 5. stim!! and/or release your emotions! (don’t actually cause harm to yourself or others) 6. allow yourself to use whatever coping tools you have (if you already smoke, smoke. if you don’t, don’t start.) idk how else to explain it, but for me, it works. hope this helps 🩷
