Really great question because 1) it is very useful for you, you can get a lot of information about a place by how someone talks about where they work 2) it turns the interview into more of a conversation which is what you want 3) it always goes over well because people LOVEEE to talk about themselves, arguably the most important point. your interview is probably nervous too or tired of doing interviews.
