Been feeling especially overwhelmed the last three days so I’ve only listened to soft classical music. I also don’t know enough so I take whatever spotify gives me as long as it fits my noise level requirements. This and their “quiet soft piano mix” playlist are on rotation. Fills the empty gaps/folds in my brain like sand in a jar of golf balls.

Theres a playlist on spotify called jazz in the background. I find it better than other jazz playlists. The feeling of waking up to soft calm music like that is unmatched. Try it sometime and let me know of any of ur favorite soft jazz playlists or albums! :)

to calm my nervous system, sometimes, after I go through a long period of replaying the same 5 to 10 songs on repeat, I become overstimulated and can no longer listen to music with any kind of singing or lyricism. However, my brain usually craves some kind of entertainment, classical music has become a medium for which I can romanticise my daily commutes and go into a kind of meditative state where I can see more clearly the individual leaves on passing trees, the colours of neon signs shinning a bit brighter and an overall improved sense of the world.

If you like something heavily woody, hinoki by CDG is beautiful and is very much just a solid wood scent. Floriental is a sweeter woody scent if you’re open to sweet. Dior poisonous is warm and sweet sort of in a rootbeer gourmand way, but has rosewood, musk, and sandalwood. Smell that one first if you can just in case. Fleur De Peau and La Papier by Diptyque as well as Studied by Liis are all very similar to Glossier You if you like those paper-y skin like scents. I’d say Liis is a more intense twin of You but they’re all similar. I haven’t smelled Piano Santal by L’Orchestre Parfum but I’d look into the notes. They may intrigue you. I plan on sampling soon. If you ever want a beautifully warm and cozy gourmand, check out Winter of 99 by Kerosene. Smells like nutmeg and has a bit of wood and vanilla. Cozy and warm but imo, not nauseatingly sweet like many gourmands.

Using your lungs for good and bad. Cancelling out the smoke with cardio. The bliss of a cigarette while walking through a big city in the fairly cold weather is an experience I can only describe as joyous and freeing.
