What is your favorite movie that everyone overlooks or doesn't know? Mine is definitely Snowpierce (2013) by Bong Joog-ho. The idea that people get stuck on a train and are helplessly oppressed by their luckier fellow passengers. I like the atmosphere of the film and the performances by everyone, but especially Chris Evans, who showed he can be something other than Captain America. The progression from dark and dirty tail to interesting and perfect front of the train, the culture of the train, the revolution and the amazing action sequences. I could talk about this movie all day. I feel like the fact that a lot of people are just glossing over this makes me like the film even more. I'm curious what your hidden gems are :P

There's tons of movies that I think are a must-see (Tampopo, Roman Holiday, Moonlight, Amelie etc.) and trying to recommend any made me realise how much I love watching films... but I'd start with this one. It's about Living, with a capital T, and it's got plot, beautiful scenery etc. I also think it's a straightforward way to see what films do versus documentaries or other visual media. I first saw it as a bored volunteer at a film festival, killing time between two other movies I really wanted to see instead hahaha go in with zero expectations.

guillermo del toro's story telling in this is amazing. it's a perfect mix of fantasy and horror, all while being set in the reality of war. its just an iconic movie that i think everyone should watch at least once in their lives. honorable mention: - aftersun: an a24 banger that i feel like people haven't watched yet. its the definition of a slow burn. made me feel too many emotions that i've neverrrr experienced after watching other movies

I Lost My Body (2019) directed by Jérémy Clapin. A quote from the director about this film that I really love is " what the hand touches is felt through the sound". There is something about the way that this film approaches fantasy and surrealism that makes it one of one. Wall-E (2008) directed by Andrew Stanton. Old but classic, and still relevant with its themes around environmentalism and community. The Holiday (2006) directed by Nancy Meyers. I watch this even when its not Christmas, and there is just something so satisfying about it. Has one of my favourite soundtracks of all time. Everything Everywhere All At Once (2022) directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert. This movie kind of changed my life, when I make art I feel like in some of it you can see that this film has influenced me, and maybe it will do the same for you. Neria (1991) directed by Godwin Mawuru. Its one of my country's (Zimbabwe) most well known films. Its story follows a woman who falls victim to the greed of her brother in law that wrongs her and her children. It has strong socioeconomic commentary and is hotly debated today. Its also a film that is came out long before I was born so I cannot emphasize its impact enough.

I think if there was some type of "go back" button that puts you back where you were before you clicked would be neat
