i bought my pair off of my last college roommate b4 i graduated and they’re still holding up!! i wear them to the office, and i’ve also worn them to protests, running errands, walks in the park sometimes, formal-ish events. and i’ve never slipped in them!! imo they’re sturdy but still comfy, though you could probably add a thin insole for extra comfort. they work with many outfits and look best with ruffle/scalloped ankle socks, tights, or cute crew socks. attached is a collage i made for this rec of my pair in the wild lol 😌🎀

it’s a long haul, but I have a pair of doc martins loafers that are finally comfortable for all day wear. I’ve been wearing them on and off for over a year but they’re at a point now where my feet feel good and I genuinely look forward to putting them on cause they’re so comfy! It took many blisters but I think it was very worth it. Now to focus on my Mary Jane’s 🥴 want to have them ready to go by summer but the leather is much stiffer and they’re still causing some pain

As the unofficial menswear nerd-in-residence at PI.FYI I think everyone should own a pair of these. They single-handedly saved the brand in the 1940’s and were worn by doctors & vets & lawyers & blue collar workers & bushwick graphic designers. My first pair came in a classic pebbled brown leather and these are my ‘fun’ black leather + pony hair pair. Price is steep but these have been good for weddings, workdays, +10 mile walks, rain and snow. Andddd!!! They’re unisex and look great on women as well. Enjoy.

I've had a few pairs (one pair of boots I thrifted and another pair of boots I've yet to break in because they hurt so much lol) and these have been the most comfortable for me. I've had them for a few years and don't remember a super painful adjustment period, plus they still look and feel great about 5 years later and I wear them frequently

being traditionally cool is really quite boring and iterative, and it’s actually very cool and sexy to geek out about something you like or share bits of knowledge on a topic you’re passionate about

i had it for a little over a year until i was like wow this is actually terrible! i genuinely think it has negatively impacted society by ruining people’s attention spans, having a horrific algorithm, and most of all by the most mind-numbing or outright harmful trends - fake words that people now use IRL (“unalive”), trad wife tiktok, shein hauls, body-focused fitness vids that encourage fatphobia and unhealthy habits, shallow political/feminist theory and queer discourse, “alpha male” podcaster tiktok, encouraging overconsumption in general, trends ruining local spots or niche things… the list goes on
