'Voyage voyage' by Kate Ryan has to be one of those songs, the ones that make (me) feel extremely close to my European core. Close your eyes and imagine... A school dance in the early 2000s, disco lights, neon outfits, a poor music teacher cosplaying as a DJ, 'Everytime We Touch' in the queue, everybody screaming lyrics to songs they don't understand. Just a bunch of polish kids in a school gym. I think about those moments quite often. My roommate used to hate it when I played trashy pop but trust me, nothing makes you(me) feel more alive than shaking my ass to "European" dance hits. bless up

Giorgio Moroder was on to something! Love this genre; puts a lil' pep in your step when doing mundane tasks like errands, attending funerals, etc.

being strange and unique

i’m needing to remind myself that being odd and dressing uniquely is not a bad thing. going back to university and not knowing anyone in my classes while also showing up in a full tweed suit or a tetris cardigan or a long brocade jacket is okay. don’t let the uniqueness leave you just because people give you strange looks. be more like the girl that dresses in head to toe lolita coords every day. or the guy that came to class dressed as soulja boy for no particular reason. get weird with it!!
