Wash day routine for me is just conditioner in the shower, then I turn the water off and apply leave-in conditioner followed by gel. So so important to not use a terrycloth towel to dry your hair as it removes too much moisture. Like weird I also plop then air dry. /r/curlyhair was an invaluable resource for me when I started growing my curls out. I highly recommend checking it out if you haven't already!

I have 3a hair. My routine is wash, leave-in conditioner, gel, microfiber towel to scrunch/get excess water out, air dry. The biggest tip I have is to make sure your hair is still soaking wet when you put product in your hair. It should be dripping. Air dry if you want more defined curls. Diffuse if you want more volume. Products: -Ouidad curl quencher leave in conditioner -Curl Keeper original liquid styler gel

Over the last half a decade, i’ve come to embrace my curly hair and have garnered some ritualistic practices when it comes to my hair. here are some things I wish I would’ve known sooner, see photo for credibility: - DO NOT use Shea Moisture, it’s waxy and will build up. Of course it’s different for everyone(particularly people with Black hair), I just find that line of products to be too heavy, and it leaves my hair looking dull. - I genuinely like john frieda’s frizz-ease line for frizz, but the best thing you can do to combat frizz as previously mentioned, is apply a generous amount of leave-in conditioner after styling products. - I prefer to plop for 10-20 minutes(put my hair in a t-shirt headwrap) and air dry after that. I’ve gotten the best volume and styling results with this method. - If you can’t afford the good stuff(like that fancy K18 or Davine’s stuff my hair dresser wants me to use) splurge on a good mask. I use a nice mask once a week to remove and buildup from the week before and it leaves my hair feeling refreshed! - Broken record i’m sure but get a hair dryer! I was hair-dryer-averse for many years and recently got one to help with volume. It takes me maybe 5-10 minutes and my hair ends up looking incredible!

I actually don’t have curly hair, but my son has your exact same hair type so here is what we do: 1. Always brush it wet. Never brush it dry. Start from the bottom and work your way up to prevent pain and breakage. 2. After you wash, put in a leave in conditioner. All the products I use for him are geared towards kids so I won’t even recommend but I’m sure you can get good recommendations for that elsewhere. I usually pull all of the excess water out while I am running this through. 3. After that, I use a gel and scrunch from the ends up. His hair is still wet while I do this, but not sopping. I usually have him flip his head over and I shake at the roots to give some volume. 4. When he’s older, I might start drying with a diffuser, but he’s only three so I don’t really see the need. To refresh on non-wash days, I just spray it down and brush. I sometimes add more gel, sometimes I don’t. I don’t really think it needs the gel daily. He gets compliments on his hair all the time. I’m very envious.

I filed a complaint with a bunch of receipts to my city's rent board last month after my landlord notified me of another increase, and turns out she was in violation of increasing rent within 12 months following a previous rent increase The city just told my landlord to reimburse me the excess rent, and my current rent must remain in place until next March for her to be in compliance (she wanted to raise it another 10% in October lol)
