Anyone got some recs for sleeping better? I’ll try melatonin and the sleepy bear drink but mostly I just want some sympathy

Earplugs. They are my secret weapon. Even if it isn’t noisy I feel cocooned. You have all my sympathy as a night shifter, it’s hard to sleep. But I believe in you, you will go mimis.

aquaphormuffin I'll try this again but the last time I did the little earplug cover nipple thing got lodged in my ear canal and I had to go to a 24 hour clinic to get it removed it was terrifying

Hey I have chronic insomnia so here’s so sympathy 🫂 there are lots of “sleep hygiene” things you can do (sunlight/exercise in the day, no blue light at night, etc., etc.) and various medicinal plants (valerian, passionflower, etc but if you stI’ll have issues even with all that

solomonki god dammit posted by accident. to continue, I take Dayvigo. It’s an entirely different class of drugs than benzodiazepines (old sleep drugs) or nonbenzodiazepines (next gen) and represent the latest gen of sleep meds and can be taken long term if needed. You could always go to the doctor and get a sample 💊

I am addicted, I am obsessed, that bear is my everything. I tried to switch to melatonin gummies and they suck if your goal is trying to have fun dreams and not like, trying to sleep (and don’t tell me that’s a bad reason to be taking melatonin, I don’t care!!). When I drink sleeptime +melatonin I knock tf out and enter the silliest dream land possible and I really can’t recommend it enough. followed by opening up all my windows to let the cool air in. If it’s cold enough I’ll make a little tea. Then I jammify and lounge/read/listen to podcast all while brushing my teeth (and flossing 💪) and getting ready for bed. Eventually I do sudokus in bed until my eyes start to cross

Oh my gosh same. Me and insomnia are majorly at war rn. I bought a pregnancy pillow and that helped a lot bc it’s very ergonomic. Also a weighted sleep mask bc it helps with tension stuck in your face, jaw, or neck. Plus anything weighted is oxytocin boosting. FL-41 lenses before bed help to reduce the effect of blue light or other visual sensory related circadian disruptions. Bc sorry, no amount of insomnia is bad enough for me to not have my scrolling time at night. Brown or violet noise instead of white noise could be better, or the Headspace rainy day antique shop adult bedtime story YouTube video. Sometimes also all you need is to sleep with your head facing the other way, or on the couch, or with different pillows or blankets than normal because it makes it feel like falling asleep is accidental almost? So it’s less pressure? Lastly, I do take prescription meds to help but they have fewer side effects than like ambien so lmk if you wanna know which ones worked better for me and when to use which. This was one of my new years resolutions: creating more stuff and not being satisfied by simply consuming media, art, coffee etc. I felt like I was floundering and too caught up with work to really find the time to explore this side.
