When I find myself getting into this state, itā€™s usually because the things that used to excite me or give me purpose, donā€™t anymore. Recently I found myself getting in that exact state. Totally uninspired by everything. The school year had just ended, I had just gotten out of a relationship, and I no longer had something to fill my day, or give me purpose. So I started boxing! A hobby that makes zero sense with who I am as a person, which is kind of why i love it. I love that itā€™s something i am starting from scratch and itā€™s fun to see my progress develop. Itā€™s also given me a new community outside of my normal routine. So i recommend diving into a hobby that might seem unexpected and focusing your energy into that, you never know what it could turn into.

As I get older I get more self aware. I try to understand what I really like and what to make time for. If thereā€™s something you loved and then strayed away from because you made new friends or moved to a new place, find time to pick whatever that is back up. Go dust off the old guitar and look up youtube tutorials and get back into it. Btw this actually leads me into my next recā€¦

One day I'm super into boxing, the next I'm buying a bike. I'm writing 1/4 of a screenplay, I'm learning to make 4-5 fancy cocktails. I'm ordering a jump rope, a kendama, a yo-yo. I'm attempting to learn tennis by hitting a ball against a wall for half an hour (once). Picking up hobbies and then dropping them after a few tries is nothing to be ashamed of. It should not discourage you for fear of being called a quitter or flippant. The secret is knowing that you're better for getting out there and ceaselessly pursuing further opportunities for joy in your life.

I finally started getting back in to the hobbies I once loved. I have spent so long just waking up, going through the motions, and then waiting to fall back asleep again to do it all over the next day. I have found so much enjoyment in spending time doing the things I love. So this is your reminder to pick back up the things that bring you happiness. Whether that be journaling, crocheting, knitting, biking, swimming, people-watching, or any strange thing that makes your heart happy! Donā€™t just be alive, wake up and actually LIVE the life you want to live.

I recently went to seattle for a music festival and fell in love with the city. But less because of the place and more because of the people. Everyone was so kind and willing to talk to you, something that is not common where iā€™m from. And the weather was beautiful. The sun doesnā€™t completely set till around 10:30, and the days are warm but not sticky. Itā€™s perfect.
