I never thought Nicholas Cage was remotely attractive, and then I came across this movie. It's also such a great cast, with lines delivered so sharp and fast, with a certain wistfulness that I do think all romcoms ought to have.
Also I love this scene, always makes me giggle.
Nic cage acting like a broken John travolta. John travolta pretending to be Nic cage at his most batshit. A huge budget for John Woo to blow up all kinds of shit, pre-cgi. A script that defies logic. A sci-fi prison called Erewhon with mag boots. 1997 was a good year for movies.
