my friend recommended his song “Carthage” to me a couple years ago and since then, his name’s been on my radar but i never really took the time to properly dive into his discography until tonight. the weather getting cooler here has me craving the lush and warm sonic landscape of guitar music and this album is just what i’ve been looking for. it’s some of the most magical music i’ve heard in a long time… i also recommend wholeheartedly thanking your friends for music recommendations that you really resonate with, even if you listen to it years after they recommend it, and even if thanking them sounds or seems sappy. recommending music is such a special and sacred thing and i always like to hear when someone connects with something i‘ve sent them, whether i talk to this person every day or once every few years. sharing music is choosing to love and we should spread that love all around, all the time <3

I am absolutely in love with this site. Better yet, I am very happy to see a lot of folks recommend music I have heard of or never listened to. I just wanted to put this out first before I go into a huge spiel. I am a huge fan of Jason Molina’s work, and every year, I take a listen to the majority of his catalogue works, from his solo, and two bands he created. What surprises me is that this is brutally honest music that haven’t reached a lot of people, but what’s great about this is when somebody knows who I am talking about, they get it. I wanted to share his music and promise whoever sees this that they’re in for a treat. Jason Molina had the promise of making music now if he didn’t die so early. What he left behind were countless gems for people to discover and enjoy. You don’t go looking for Molina’s music. His music finds you.

i’ve been a fan of briston for a little over 5 years now, and i’ve gotta say it’s been one of the best things to ever happen to me. i love his music, of course, but through his shows i have met some of my best friends and made some of my favorite memories. it actually hurts my brain to think about what my life would be like if i hadn’t gone to see him at the beast in 2022 - that show catapulted me into this need to go to more and more nashville indie shows. i could go on about it all for much longer, but i will spare you. it has been such a wild ride, and i can only hope that other people have similar stories with him (or other artists! please share if you do!). anywho, these are my top 3 tracks: 1. fool’s gold 2. the garden 3. i’ve been waiting and this is a pic i took of him at iron city earlier this year

Such a sweet song. I have so much love for the people that I associate with it. I have so much love for who I was while listening to this album in 2022, and how I’ve grown since then. Go listen to the whole album, Some Nights I Dream of Doors. It’s so good. Obongjayar’s recent stuff is great too. Dear person reading my rec, do your best to enjoy the present and make good memories. Things work out❤️
