i had bangs as a little kid, then not again til high school when the small town midwestern hairdresser my mom took me to did me so dirty and gave me the thickest bangs known to man. they were cute for exactly 1.5 weeks and then looked horrific for the next 2 years til i grew them out (partially my own faultβi refused to pay to get them trimmed every time. still do). now that i'm in my mid 20s, i was finally brave enough to get bangs again when i got a shag cut last year. i adore them so much and i realized a big part of why i love them way more than i did when i was a teenager (besides them being cut better) is that i don't care nearly as much what i look like now. wind blows them up? so what, it's the wind, it'll stop when i reach my destination. temporary issue. they're not sitting right on my head/face after sleeping on them? no problem, i'll either re-wet and air dry them or it's now a hat day.
my main suggestion is: don't get bangs if your self confidence is not in a place to not be worried about them. you must control the bangs, not the other way around!!
secondary suggestion: get bangs that look good both normally and pushed to the side and learn how to utilize headbands, hats, and bandanas when you just absolutely cannot be bothered that day
