i do a few that i love but one of the easiest is lemon brocc pasta: rotini (or penne), head or two of broccoli, loooots of spinach, lots of minced garlic (store bought is ok!), few tbsp lemon juice to taste, pinch of salt and pepper, ample parmesan pasta obv takes a bit but thereā€™s basically no prep. if you really wanna save more time/energy literally just get microwave broccoli/chopped spinach instead of fresh lol. and if youā€™re cooking for one, an entire box of pasta will make quite a few meals for your next lunches and dinners, and it microwaves well! so you get the home cooked meal vibe for a few days without too much work

- brown some chopped garlic on pan with olive oil and italian seasoning, s&p. - add whichever shape pasta (sometimes i do this with orzo instead of like penne), one squeezed lemonā€˜s juice, and not too much boiling water (enough so that it cooks the pasta, but also so it evaporates by the end) - when the pastaā€™s just before al dente, and thereā€™s just a little pasta water left, i add double cream and emulsify, let it cook for a bit. - turn off heat and toss in grated parmesan, parsley (or basil) (or fresh thyme), and lemon zest. tasty, zesty and fresh but doesnā€™t take much time or effort! takes abt as long as ur pasta takes to boil + a few mins for chopping the garlic. otherwise, i have sauces like napolitana or pesto sauce made in large amounts, so all i have to do is boil some pasta for them throughout the week. or, an even quicker one is if ur groceries sell fresh egg noodles and chopped veg, just add some teriyaki sauce and thatā€™s it)

The recipe is already so simple but I make it even simpler sometimes. Literally just pasta, cut up vegetables (I have a food processor which makes it easy) and whatever seasonings you have on hand. Plus olive oil obviously but that goes without saying. Most recently I did this with broccoli since I had a ton and I can't stand eating it raw.

Each person has those items that will consistently be in their pantries. Mine are garlic, some kind of onion or shallot, red pepper, tomato paste, parm, and what I tell myself is high quality olive oil. Take those things, cook them how you please, and put it on pasta. Itā€™s almost as easy as buttered noodles but more flavorful anf fulfilling than that. When Iā€™m feeling lazy, this is one of the best things I can do for myself. Take your pantry staples and try it out.

being traditionally cool is really quite boring and iterative, and itā€™s actually very cool and sexy to geek out about something you like or share bits of knowledge on a topic youā€™re passionate about

i had it for a little over a year until i was like wow this is actually terrible! i genuinely think it has negatively impacted society by ruining peopleā€™s attention spans, having a horrific algorithm, and most of all by the most mind-numbing or outright harmful trends - fake words that people now use IRL (ā€œunaliveā€), trad wife tiktok, shein hauls, body-focused fitness vids that encourage fatphobia and unhealthy habits, shallow political/feminist theory and queer discourse, ā€œalpha maleā€ podcaster tiktok, encouraging overconsumption in general, trends ruining local spots or niche thingsā€¦ the list goes on
