Big Echo Karaoke Asakusa - Kappabashi Hondori St - Sensoji Temple - Pure’s Sound Market - Koko Restaurant (very hole in the wall izakaya run by an elderly couple - come prepared with a translator app) Shimokitazawa - Vintage shopping - Umeboshi Bar (linked) - Naruto taiyaki Stay: almond hostel & café. - One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in. Very cosy, safe and women-friendly.

Particularly when traveling to Tokyo, where there are like a dozen different places in Shimokitazawa, Nakameguro, Shinjuku or Roppongi that feel like my platonic ideal of Japanese culture/society. Sit in your booth, put your earbuds in, float on a sea of tonkatsu broth. Ahhhh.
