i love them so much and get almost all my scents from them. they have such a wide array of unique perfume oils, often historically and/or artistically inspired. they’ve got everything from gourmands to sensual to incensey and magical etc…cost effective in the sense that their smaller vials don't break the bank and last months. their biggest size runs about $90, but i think that’s more than worth it considering how long they last. a little goes a long way. not only does it take me forever to finish a bottle, but the scent lingers and projects very well! they’re also fairly generous with the samples (which i often enjoy and also last pretty long considering their size)

niche, indie perfume house with an array of cool scents. ode to aphrodite is like musky but soapy but floral but sweet <3 in the summer sometimes i will wear silver narcissus by them, which is a bit of a sweet, slightly incense-y floral. in the spring i will also sometimes wear masque milano’s lost alice, which is like peppery and lactonic tea party notes. fall and winter i sometimes wear possets perfume’s passion, which is chocolatey. my go to lotion is palmers cocoa butter and i think it layers nicely with all these scents ☺possets is a great brand cost wise bc perfume oils last longer in my opinion and a little goes a long way <3

Obsessed with perfume. For a while I was searching for a signature scent, but then the hunt just became too much fun, and now I’ve ended up with a full on vanity tray in my bathroom piled with a different smell for every mood. I used to wear only China Rain, a rollerball scent my mom got me in high school from a perfumery in LA called Spiritbody. I still have a bottle of that, but when I wear it I’m transported to a more insecure time lol. Right now I love Shadow in the Water from Diptyque for when I want to smell clean and romantic. I wear Smudge by Heretic almost every day because it’s colder out and it makes me feel so warm and cozy, like i’ve been sitting by a fire all day, and like I give good advice and paint landscapes. Perfume is definitely a splurge, but it lasts for so long, and I think it’s really special to have a beautiful scent that people can recognize you by. I am going to gatekeep my secret combination of Byredo perfumes that I wear constantly, and I’m sorry about that. It’s just too good and too me.

i've tried all three brands to an extent (i have quite a few byredo samples, 5 bottles of diptyque & a solid perfume, 1 small bottle of le labo), so i hope that i can help you in some way! - le labo has the strongest lasting power i'd say, i find i can still smell it on me after a long day, and it's a bit of fun going into the store and getting them to mix it all up for you and such, but their price point is really high for what you're getting imo and the majority of their offerings aren't all that interesting to me. thé matcha is the one i went for, and i'd go for thé noir, which is incredibly nice, and maybe santal 33 if i had that kinda money. it's really just a struggle to justify the price point when i can think of a lot more interesting brands that provide a more premium experience and quality at a similar price. i like their shower gel though, the basil one smells fabulous - byredo for me is another one that is really cool in theory but ultimately falls short in their actual fragrances.. i do like them a lot, but i find quite a few of them smell very similar to me (there are a few that i have trouble remembering which is which cause they have such a similar dna hahah) their price point is more understandable, their bottles are really cool and tactile, the people that work for them are nice and the lasting power is pretty average. doesn't necessarily last all day unless you've got the fancy brown liquid ones. i wouldn't say they last as well as le labo does in my experience, but it's not a screamingly huge difference. highlights from them for me (of what i've sampled) are rose of no man's land, la tulipe and sellier (sellier is really really nice and really really overpriced). try out their makeup and candles too if you're into that! i love their makeup a lot i think it's really fun and nice quality - i am a ride-or-die diptyque fan so i will try my best to not sound biased but i just find their fragrances all to be really interesting!! i will definitely admit that the lasting power isn't totally there on the eau de toilettes for philosykos (which disappears very quickly which makes me very sad because it's one of my ultimate favourites) and tam dao (i can't speak for any of the eau de parfums because i don't have any yet) but l'eau papier and eau rose last decently long (not as long as le labo though..) and they're both incredibly lovely. the price point of the small bottles of the eau de toilettes has gone up over the past couple of years which has made the lack of lasting power a bit harder to justify, but i suppose it's worth it if you're really into the smell itself, like i am. the solid perfume is also a really great price point - i have orphéon - and it doesn't really project the smell to others but it lasts for a good while especially considering it's a solid, and the fact that it's refillable is super nice and convenient. wouldn't entirely recommend their candles despite them being quite literally a candle company just because a few of the scents smell a bit samey when they're burning. really from all of this my best advice would be to grab a few samples from each brand and give them a go in your own time and see what works for you! luckyscent is a shout for most countries to get samples from - i hope this helped a bit :)

started writing this a few hours ago when i first saw this ask, then decided against posting but i've since changed my mind. there really is no justification for it outside of entitlement. even from a selfish lens, there's no long term benefit to its usage. it harms the world and culture in more ways than one. a.) the water and energy usage that isn't a secret at this point. "no ethical consumption under capitalism" yadda yadda and yeah corporations are extremely culpable in the state of the environment but there really is no need for chatgpt and the planet is already too delicate at the moment. b.) the exploitation of workers in the global south. this program is not just a computer figuring it all out, there are in fact humans behind it. it reminds me of the acceptance of fast fashion and how people have the tendency to divorce the idea of the garment worker from the garment they wear when all clothing is handmade in some way, shape or form. you need hands to man a sewing machine, you need human eyes to moderate content. also, content moderation can be a thankless job with psychological repercussions. c.) the erosion of social skills, humanity and media literacy...this one is very personal. like, you have a cushy email job but can't write an email? you need a computer and a worker in kenya to get paid a dollar an hour to figure out a daily routine for you? i've seen the program churn out blatantly incorrect information. fine tuning a prompt or chat or whatever to give you the exact (possibly incorrect) answer you need isn't really that much less work than sharpening your research skills by cracking open a dictionary or using boolean search keys in google. again, the main issue with this kind of stuff is the entitlement to convenience, with no thought towards the repercussions within and outside of us. we are losing major recipes (critical thinking and media literacy) here, people! i probably did an iffy job are coherently articulating my thoughts here but i am in fact, human. and that’s the beauty of it all.
