I'm really digging this paid camera replacement app for iOS. The feature that make me love it: PROCESS ZERO. It allows you so take photos without any smart enhancements, auto HDR, or smart/AI processing. Even the default camera app has a lot of built-in post shot processing that you can't turn off. There's something honest and retro about it. Like a point and shoot from the early 2000's. Before and after the photo you can only adjust one thing: exposure. My pics come out noisier, grainier, not quite as color popping. Light becomes a factor again. Also this represents the direction I want to move generally with my tool and platform choices: away from algorithms, enhancements, artificial perfection and toward authenticity, messiness, reality.

So if you’ve been on my page for 2 seconds you’ll know I like vintage and weird. So today i decides to share this photo with you. I took this on my iPhone . It’s a product photo for the ring worn. My vision: So I wanted the photo to show the ring in all it’s glory. So I chose B&W. It really allows me to play with the light and shadows. And not hafto worry about the pesky colour. Plus’s it adda structure. I wanted the photo to have depth. For me it’s not just a product Photo meant to sell something, but it’s photography. My best work is when I’m passionate about what I’m doing. Let me know what you think! #amaturephotography

this is worthy of celebration: the lack of video—autoplay video, noisy inane video, panicky video, algorithmic, dumb video, rabbit hole video, any video—on pi.fyi is a good thing
