i Used to be angry at Alexa
for playing the wrong song
a few times she played out something I never would’ve listened to otherwise, thinking I wanted ‘joy anonymous‘ instead of ‘joy division’ (shit example but you get me)
I now Find serious joy in mistyping song Titles. it makes finding new sounds easier and more spontaneous. It’s funny how music discovery has become a bit too good, too algorithmic. more access, more music, technically more ways to discover - but the accidental finds are way more fulfilling / gratifying
Try:
1. song or artist name with an associated word
(Royal Blood -> Royal Mud, Jungle -> Woodland)
2. SOng or artist name with a typo
(Clairo -> Claire, Fontaines DC -> Fountains UK)
