a forever favorite. i almost cried in the shower listening to it the other day, and i would most certainly sob if i experienced the magic of it in concert. when the sweet, synthy sounds of “Ever New” start the album, it makes you wanna jump in a cold lake and become new again… this album could be one of the reasons why i end up in divinity school one day to study the religious, almost god-like properties of music (and i’m not even really religious!)

been listening to mj lendermen’s “grief” a lot lately (im good not sad just find it beautiful) and it remidned me of my love for the lonely saxophone. it really just elevates a song to transcendent levels and makes you feel like you’re flying, going straight to heaven. some other examples are bon iver’s sh’diah and m83‘s midnight city. these two are especially elevated in their climaxes.

perhaps you are mourning your lost childhood? perhaps you are attempting to be present in the world for the first time? perhaps you are undertaking the all-too-human task of creating meaning from the fragments of your world? put on your headphones, go for a walk, and listen to this album!! learn to appreciate your own existence in all of its pain and beauty!! the one can not come without the other, i fear. faves: before, crybaby, just like mine, modern woman, to wake up

the last word i wrote down in my list is maelstrom! i think i have like 100 words written down, some of them repeated without meaning to... i like words a lot and there are many i wish to remember and immortalize. what’s a word you never want to forget?
