I took up stained glass as a hobby a few years ago. You know those shows where people move off the grid and they have so much pride for the way they live, even though they have to shovel thru 6ft of rocks and dirt every time they want to take a shower? The closest I have gotten to that feeling is making things with my hands. it started at knitting, then shrinky dink keychains, then cricuting tote bags and t shirts, then collaging, and most recently making stained glass. I love having Bloody battled lil finger pads and holding something sharp and real up to the window that exists in space and time because I FORGED IT! In reality, I am making silly little suncatchers for my friends that Aren't all rock and roll, but it makes me feel powerful and good. Can recommend stained glass but also any hobby where you create something fun and cute for Sport

I already do this when I can, but if I was truly analog, i’d be crafting. jack of all trades, master of none: - crocheting - painting(nails or canvas with acrylic) - making jewelry - printmaking - quilting (big fan of improv quilting) - drawing - pottery/clay work - bookbinding/scrapbooking/collaging

-baking & cake decorating is probably my main one(I also do it to an extent for work too) -sewing; all my clothes are either made, upcycled, or tailored by me -painting though I’m not the best at it but it’s relaxing -needlefelting it’s really accessible and relaxing. I take it with me to cafes and such for something to do with my hands and it’s a good conversation starter. I like to give random people free keychains and trinkets I make -music; I love to write songs and I play guitar and banjo, also taking voice lessons at the moment -”photography” I like to take Polaroids of my friends and things and decorate them with stickers and doodles -vintage doll and toy collecting I have too many things -cosmetics; love makeup too much and doing people’s hair -fashion; between making stuff, studying old runway shows, and learning whatever history I can

Maybe more of "i wish i hadn't forgotten" how to play like a kid. I wasted so many years taking my creative job (in fashion) so seriously i burned out. Now im an independent artist doing silversmithing and tattooing fulltime. I just learned the basics and the safety rules, and didnt bother to learn the traditional aesthetic rules . Im more relaxed and fulfilled, and people come to me for my style ♡ Here's my self-tatted leg. I add to it when i want to practice or try something new #art #creativity #tattoo #jewelry #personalstyle

i have been on a journey to untangle my tasks from my iPhone. i'd be out in the world someplace, pull out my phone for something as menial as checking the time, or as well intentioned as capturing the moment in a pic, and immediately get sucked into texts and instagram™️ and all the virtual things happening in this tiny lil demon light box. the goal: pull my phone out of my bag ONLY for phone things. that's texting, calling, and apps that can't be replaced the solutions so far: 🕰️ i started with a watch (shoutout Casio) and i wear it every day. once I broke the habit of checking my phone for the time, I felt legitimately freed from something Major 📷 I bought a small digital camera to leave in my bag. the pics look better and I don’t get distracted by the virtual world when I'm trying to capture something in the now 📚 I bought a kindle. It fits in my jacket pocket (literally) and gives me something to do when I'm on the train or waiting for an appointment that isn't scrolling I just realized so much of the time I spent on my phone was not intentional. It was a thing I was doing in between Other intentional moments. my screen time is still several hours a day (don’t get me wrong) but I think my brain has healed at least 3%. welcoming other ideas as well💡

i was born a night owl and so i know what you're thinking: you'd rather roll out of bed 10 mins before your first zoom call than sacrifice ur late night scrolling BUT hear me out Things u can do before you sit down at your desk: ‼️Shower ‼️Meditate ‼️Put a lil Outfit on ‼️Take a walk and/or Buy a latte ‼️Do an errand ‼️Move ur Body ‼️Do your dishes ‼️Read a chapter of ur book ‼️Squeeze in 1hr of Saturday every week day morning Things this decreases: 🦺Existential dread 🦺Job-related resentment 🦺Days and weeks melting away into nothing but Emails 🦺Feelings of Impending doom
