It's 20 minutes of shredding and lyrics about climate change anxiety, and I listen to the whole thing every time. Linked: the live performance I saw of it a month ago in Portland, fittingly, during a torrential downpour.

this was genuinely life changing for me. i cant express my love with words bc its almost religious at this point. the lads brought their absolute fucking a-game for this. some fire lines: development wants, development gets its official development wants this neighbourhood gone so the city just wants the same when the bit pulls tight, the grip is sewn into the reins can't breathe it out, you just breathe it back again the sun's a strange light nothing grows right anymore scars on every stalk whose mouth should i use to talk? laid out immobile hoping for that call it's in my mouth, under my skin sodium pentathol

not exactly a sleeper but I think this song has some complexity and depth in its sound and timbre that I really enjoy the guitar section and drums really shine for me with the fills they add, the vocals are easy to sing along with and they carry a wealth of emotion that I love and makes me cry (need to work on the run-on sentences jesus christ)

I’m having eye issues and no one knows what they’re doing, it’s incredibly frustrating. I left my new surgeon SO mad no one had told me I need 2 surgeries and 6 months between and MAYBE it’ll be ok .. maybe another ? The urge came from nowhere ~ I angry walked uphill for a while and it’s my rock angst go to again (first time I heard it live I thought it was ‘I’ve been taking Prozac on the hour’ - and it’s actually cold bath)

An incredible, genre-defying film from Johnnie To that uses Judo as the philosophical foundation for its story of three people looking for more out of life. You see them thrown to the ground repeatedly in its 95 mins, but more than anything, it's a film about the importance of getting back up. Over, and over, and over. It features a deftly hidden twist and a couple incredibly dynamic sequences (the arcade scene and the night club centerpiece) that I had to rewind and watch again. Outstanding cinematography and inventive choreography in almost every scene, whether it's 4 conversations woven together at once or a 1-on-1 Judo match in the tall grass.

That was the real name of the tour. Carol booklets were handed out at the door, and every couple songs they'd spin the giant wheel on stage to choose a carol to sing with the crowd. Props, costumes, the whole nine yards. Without question, the best and most unique concert I've ever seen. I caught it December 16, 2012 at the Beachland Ballroom in Cleveland, but I grabbed this photo from the Internet because I'm pretty sure my only photos lived on a flip phone.
