A close friend put together this collection of poems for me for a birthday, gorgeously typed out and organised.
Almost two years later, through a changing friendship and moving states, it is still one of my most prized possessions. every time I return to it and read parts I wonder what she was thinking about when she chose a particular poem, if she saw parts of me in it or herself. all of this makes me feel wonderfully connected to her and our shared love for poetry, and known and loved.

I return to this poem every 3 months or so, in the same way you put on an old favorite song that you woke up with stuck in your head and you’ve got to listen to it just to enjoy it all over again. I circle back to this poem always.

This is what I call it hahahah made by mums everywhere but the greased up version is sold along stalls in Mumbai. Two regular slices of white bread, buttered, and the middle filling is cream cheese with red onions, coriander/cilantro, tomatoes and some minced chillis. All veggies chopped mini cube size so they blend with the cheese. Toasted crispy.
