Best splitscreen game at the moment, arcadey but substantial f1 style racing. way easier for mates to pick up and drive than the codemasters games. just feels classic, think it's on all platforms.
it's got a campaign through different eras, stylised versions of major tracks, and the option to fuck over your rivals at any opportunity. Hot laps are also fun as hell. Would be unbeatable w online multiplayer. Promise this is my last games post for the calendar year, I just โค๏ธ new star gp so much. Can't believe it's the same studio as the football apps.

gran turismo is known for being a (the) very realistic race simulator, and i bet a lot of people take the game very seriously, but what i love about it is that it sets the stage for completely surrealistic scenes (exactly because it is so realistic).
imagine, you've costumized your (!) Porsche 911 with a coat of paint called "millennium jade" and huge pink star shaped stickers all over. you've tuned it into oblivion. you enter a street car race on the Tokyo Espressway. you finish first after cutting off other cars, bumping into every wall and slipping and sliding into every direction, luckily mostly forward. after all this you get a beautifully professionally 4K filmed recap of your stunt, looking as if it could be real (like literally it looks so good).
it's fun to go fast and learn tricks (how to take turns when going rly fast, not losing time, it's kind of like a puzzle) and the images (gameplay/recaps) you get to see are so deeply funny, i rec it with all my heart

the greatest racing game of all time, brought to you by amusement vision (monkey ball devs) at their absolute peak. no game in the 22 years since has captured as exhilarating sense of speed while maintaining such tight and responsive controls.
iโve been playing it non-stop this past week and have just been absolutely gobsmacked at how amazing it is. every person iโve seen who tries it falls in love with its positively radioactive level of swag within 30 seconds. i get why that guy bought 40 grand of nintendo stock just to ask them about f-zero now

Heโs so old and wily and he has such a huge face for a small man. Looking good and having fun. Beautiful drive. wish he got Monaco last year but everyone knows heโs got a few wins left in him
