im graduating this may (feels weird to be saying this after 4 years), and im doing all of the random things that I can do only as a student. like, getting a bagel from our main student hub by myself and people watching! or, inviting a friend to meet up at the library and drink chai lattes while chatting about our day. i know im gonna miss doing these tiny things once i get thrown into ā€œthe real worldā€ and doing these little things help keep me sane.

example: a last minute gift for my mother (motherā€™s day) wrapping envelope: from a card never used ribbon: $2 at dickens fair two years ago tissue paper: saved from an Etsy order cute little bag: used to package a necklace i bought inside a small blue essential oil glass bottle (originally stored essential oil) inside that an aromatherapy body moisturizer made from ingredients in my backyard (lavender) and kitchen.

This is a rose soy candle that I bought in France. Itā€™s pink and itā€™s small. Every time I burn it, I use those moments to mourn something until the wax has melted evenly. When my cat died, I lit it for about seven minutes and used that moment to let him pass. But even on New Years Eve a few years back, it felt right to let go of the year that way. While the flame and the melting wax helps me let go, using the candleā€™s pretty metal and ceramic cup will help me keep everything Iā€™ve mourned alive. Because the candle is so small, each time I burn it itā€˜s very special.
